The Buddy Project
The Buddy Project is a heartwarming initiative that encourages community members to volunteer alongside Buddy, a certified therapy dog, to spread joy and comfort. Buddy, a well-trained and loving dog, brings a sense of calm and happiness wherever he goes. Volunteers partner with Buddy to visit hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and other local organizations, offering therapeutic interactions that help reduce stress and promote emotional well-being. Through these visits, The Buddy Project fosters a stronger, more compassionate community, showing how the bond between humans and animals can create positive, lasting impacts.

About Buddy
Handler/Owner: Nicole Nederlk
Buddy is a 3-year-old Australian Mini-Labradoodle, weighing 32 pounds. With his friendly demeanor and wonderful temperament, he brings joy to everyone he meets. His playful nature and intelligence make him a perfect member to the Alliance of Therapy dogs. We are excited to announce our partnership with National Beta Club, a dedicated student service organization from Myers Park Traditional Elementary School. Together, we look forward to making a positive impact in the community alongside these enthusiastic students. Their commitment to service inspires us, and we can’t wait to see the great things we will accomplish together!
